We offer hair follicle drug testing in order to get a more accurate reading over a farther reaching timespan than other drug tests.
Why A Hair Sample?
Some drug tests require the use of a hair sample, specifically the hair follicle.
Hair follicle tests can provide data for a farther reaching period than sampling urine or blood. When an individual consumes a substance by smoking it, such as cannabis, some of the smoke rises and gets absorbed into the hair follicle. The residue from this smoke can stay in the individual’s scalp for many months, up to 90 days, which is significantly longer than other drug testing methods.
The hair follicle test is typically done when a history of drug use is being investigated, whereas other testing methods only look for more recent use.
When doing a hair follicle drug test we take a small hair sample and analyze it in our lab for a quick reading.
